In this episode David talks about the few ways that people can legally immigrate into the United States and the RAISE Act proposed by the Trump administration that would reduce the number of legal immigrants by implementing a merits based system and making it harder for family members of US citizens to legally immigrate into the United States.
The United States need talented professionals who might be unable to immigrate under the RAISE Act. David feels that the act can be tweaked to better serve the interests of the US and its citizens.
Dave also talks about recent events surrounding the Charlottesville demonstrations and Trump’s pardoning of Joe Arpaio which he doesn’t agree with, as Arpaio, as a Sheriff, didn’t have the authority to enforce immigration laws, especially since he engaged in racial profiling.
